1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites function efficiently and to provide information to website owners. “Local Storage” is a similar browser-based storage mechanism that persists data locally on your device without an expiry date unless explicitly cleared.
2. How TTSMP3 Uses Cookies and Local Storage
TTSMP3 is built with a minimal data philosophy. We use browser storage only where technically necessary for your user experience. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or behavioral profiling cookies of any kind.
3. Cookies and Storage We Use
3.1 First-Time Visit Notice (localStorage)
Name: ttsmp3_used
Type: localStorage key
Purpose: Records whether you have previously visited the site. When this key is absent, we display a brief informational notice explaining that the AI model takes 10–20 seconds to load on first use. Once you generate audio for the first time, this key is set and the notice is suppressed on future visits.
Data stored: The string value “1” — no personal data
Expires: Persists until you manually clear browser local storage
Third-party access: None
3.2 Session State (in-memory only)
During your active browser session, the selected voice, output format (WAV/MP3), and speed setting are held in JavaScript memory variables. This data exists only in your browser’s active memory, is never written to storage, and is cleared automatically when you close the tab or browser. It is not a cookie and is not accessible to any server.
4. Cookies We Do NOT Use
TTSMP3 does not use:
- Analytics cookies – We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioral tracking analytics
- Advertising cookies – We display no ads and use no ad network technology
- Retargeting cookies – We do not track you across other websites
- Social media cookies – We do not embed social media tracking widgets
- Third-party marketing cookies – We have no affiliate or marketing tracking infrastructure
- Session authentication cookies – No login system exists; no session cookies are issued by our server
5. Third-Party Cookies
When your browser loads the Kokoro AI model and JavaScript libraries from jsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net), the CDN may set its own cookies or log your IP address as part of standard CDN operation. TTSMP3 does not control these cookies. Please refer to jsDelivr’s Cookie and Privacy Policy at jsdelivr.com/privacy for details.
Google Fonts is used to load the Inter typeface from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log font load requests. Please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy for details.
6. Managing Cookies and Local Storage
You can control and delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings:
Google Chrome:
Settings → Privacy and security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data
Mozilla Firefox:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
Safari:
Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
Microsoft Edge:
Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data
Mobile browsers:
Settings → Privacy / Site Settings → Clear data
Clearing localStorage for ttsmp3.org will remove the ttsmp3_used key, meaning the first-time notice will reappear on your next visit. This has no other effect on site functionality.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because TTSMP3 does not track users, engage in behavioral advertising, or share data with third-party trackers, your DNT preference does not change how our site operates — we already operate in a privacy-first manner consistent with DNT principles.
8. GDPR and ePrivacy Compliance (EU Users)
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, we are required to inform you about cookies and obtain consent for non-essential cookies. Since TTSMP3 uses only a single functional localStorage key (ttsmp3_used) with no personal data content, and no third-party tracking or advertising cookies, our cookie usage falls within the “strictly necessary” category that does not require explicit opt-in consent under most EU member state interpretations.
If you are an EU user and have concerns, you may contact us at [email protected].
9. CCPA Compliance (California Users)
TTSMP3 does not sell personal information. We do not share data with third parties for advertising purposes. California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. As we collect no personally identifiable information, no sale or sharing of personal data occurs.
10. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology or legal requirements. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
